The Lithuanian Minister of Defense witnessed mobile fire teams in Ukraine destroying targets
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and his Lithuanian counterpart Robertas Kaunas visited the positions of mobile fire groups to familiarize themselves with the operation of Ukraine’s “light air defense” system.
During the visit, the foreign delegation was shown the effectiveness of domestic technological solutions in real combat conditions.
The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate innovative approaches to air defense that significantly increase the effectiveness of destroying enemy targets.
Lithuanian partners had the opportunity to witness firsthand the process of detecting and neutralizing enemy air attack assets.
Particular attention was paid to the automation of defense processes, specifically the use of artificial intelligence for intercepting aerial targets.
Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized the key role of interceptor drones in the country’s modern layered air defense architecture.
“We demonstrated the operation of autonomous anti-aircraft turrets equipped with artificial intelligence, which engage missiles and strike drones, as well as interceptor drones as a key element of layered air defense,” Fedorov wrote.
In addition to demonstrating combat capabilities, the parties focused on strategic issues regarding future cooperation. The ministers discussed specific steps to support defense startups and integrate the technology sectors of both countries.
An important outcome of the talks was the decision to launch a joint project within the Brave1 platform.
This initiative aims to unite the efforts of Ukrainian and Lithuanian companies to create new types of weapons and military equipment.
As a reminder, Fedorov reported on the occupiers’ losses from Ukrainian drones this winter.
Additionally, over 2,000 job openings have been announced in the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s new IT division.
