Slovak police are investigating Fico on suspicion of treason

In Slovakia, law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into Prime Minister Robert Fico on charges of treason.

This was reported by Aktuality.

The complaint was filed by Branislav Greling, leader of the opposition SaS party; according to him, more than 13,000 people have joined the complaint.

The opposition believes that Fico may have committed a series of crimes following the decision to halt emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine. Specifically, the allegations include abuse of power, treason, and other offenses.

According to Greling, the case materials were transferred from the General Prosecutor’s Office to the regional prosecutor’s office and subsequently to the police, who launched the investigation.

He emphasized that the investigation is important because it concerns possible serious crimes committed by the head of government.

Additionally, Fico did not sign the European Council’s conclusions regarding Ukraine due to the absence of any mention of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

Fico is threatening Ukraine with measures in response to the suspension of oil transit from Russia.
