Photos, video: A finalist in the national selection for Eurovision 2026 showed the aftermath of a Russian strike on his home
Ukrainian singer Laud (Vladislav Karashchuk), a finalist in the national selection for Eurovision 2026, spoke about the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of July 2 and posted footage of the destruction.
According to the artist, the Russian strike hit the building across from his apartment.
The powerful blast wave blew out the windows in his apartment, but the singer and his family were unharmed because they were in a shelter during the air raid alert.
“Thank you to everyone who’s concerned and checking in. We’re okay. The windows were blown out, but the damage is minimal compared to the building across the street. It was a very strong and powerful explosion. The main thing is that we’re safe. Don’t be lazy about going to a shelter. You never know where a missile might land. Danger during an air raid is possible anywhere,” Laud wrote.
The artist also posted videos showing the destroyed neighboring house, shattered windows, shards of glass, damaged cars, and devastated buildings following the nighttime Russian shelling of the capital.

In closing, the singer expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and injured.
“My condolences to all the families and loved ones of those killed and injured,” Laud said.

This is evidenced by the artist’s Instagram post.
Earlier, Russian aircraft carried out a targeted strike on a residential building belonging to the family of legendary Ukrainian biathletes and Olympic champions Vita and Valentina Semerenko.
In Kyiv, as a result of a Russian missile attack on the night of June 15, an apartment building where 2023 European rhythmic gymnastics silver medalist Eva Meleshchuk lives was damaged. The athlete herself was in a shelter during the strikes and was therefore unharmed.
