The General Staff identified the hottest spots on the front lines on July 22

Since the start of the day on July 22, there have been 79 combat engagements along the front line. Russian troops continue to exert active pressure in several sectors and are also carrying out artillery shelling of border areas in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. 

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, 32 attacks on positions and populated areas were recorded.

The situation in the main sectors:

  • Pokrovsk: The highest number of attacks was recorded—the occupiers attempted 19 times to push back the Defense Forces in the areas of Kotlyne, Udachne, and toward the settlements of Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Nove Shakhove, Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Svitle, Shevchenko, and Serhiivka.

  • Sloviansk: Ukrainian soldiers repelled 17 attacks in the areas of Kryva Luka, Riznykivka, and toward Piskunivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

  • Lymansky and Kostyantynivsky: In both directions, the enemy made 10 attempts to advance. Fighting continued, in particular, near Novomykhailivka, Novoselivka, Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, and Rusyno Yar.

  • Hulyaypil Sector: Defense forces repelled eight attacks toward Vozdvizhivka, Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Hirky, Tsvitkovyi, and Charivnyi.

  • South Slobozhanskyi Sector: The invaders attempted six times to break through the defenses near Fyholivka and toward Ternova, Prylipka, Kutkivka, and Malyi Burluk.

  • Other sectors: Three attacks were repelled in the Kramatorsk sector, three in the Orikhiv sector, two in the Oleksandrivka sector, and one offensive attempt took place in the Kupiansk sector. The enemy did not conduct any offensive operations in the Dnipro sector.

As a reminder, Russia, the aggressor state, is ready to return to negotiations with Ukraine only after capturing the entire territory of the Donetsk region, Bloomberg reports, citing two sources close to the Kremlin.

A BILD analyst speculated that Russia could capture Kostiantynivka by the end of the year.

Putin’s approval rating has plummeted to its lowest level since the start of the full-scale war, according to pollsters.
