The Ukrainian Armed Forces Have Identified the Most Cost-Effective Ways to Shoot Down Russian Jet Drones
The Ukrainian military is developing special interceptor drones and aircraft-type aerial platforms to counter Russian jet-powered UAVs. Andriy Lebedenko, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this during a briefing.
According to him, the new interceptors will be capable of operating at speeds ranging from 300 to 700 km/h and at altitudes where the jet-powered “Shaheds” fly. This approach is significantly cheaper and more effective than using traditional anti-aircraft missile systems, allowing for scaled-up production.
At the same time, the use of low-cost SMArt missiles to engage targets at altitudes of up to 6 km is being considered.
