The General Staff has released figures on enemy casualties as of August 26, 2026
Over the past 24 hours, on August 25, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 1,450 Russian occupiers. The Russian Federation’s total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion amount to approximately 1,480,750 military personnel, as well as 12,300 tanks and 48,641 artillery systems.
As of August 26, the Russian Federation has suffered the following losses in the war against Ukraine:
- personnel – approximately 1,480,750 (+1,450) individuals;
- tanks – 12,300 (+7);
- armored combat vehicles – 25,230 (+10);

As a reminder, 30,000 customers in the Chernihiv region and in Slavutych lost power following an attack by Russia.
As a reminder, on August 23, Russian forces attacked a train station in the Kharkiv region with a drone while a passenger train evacuating people was stopped. Two women were killed in the strike, and five others were injured.
On August 23, Russian terrorist forces attacked Ukraine’s railway infrastructure five times. One person was killed and four others were injured as a result of the strikes.
On August 23, Russian forces attacked the locomotive of passenger train No. 147, traveling from Zhytomyr to Odesa, with a jet-powered drone. The train was stopped and evacuated in time before the strike, so neither passengers nor railroad workers were harmed.
