The General Staff explained the explosions in Vyshneve following the Russian attack
The facility in Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast, where explosions were heard during the Russian attack on July 6, does not belong to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the General Staff, a secondary detonation occurred there following the enemy strike.
“The facility where the explosions occurred in Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast, is not under the jurisdiction of or subordinate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Lykhovoy. He added that the order issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine prohibiting the placement of ammunition depots and other similar facilities near civilian buildings and areas where civilians are present remains in effect.
The spokesperson for the General Staff also emphasized that the Ukrainian military sympathizes with the residents who suffered as a result of the Russian attack. “The Armed Forces of Ukraine express their condolences to the civilians who were affected by the Russian strike,” Lykhoviy noted.
Earlier reports indicated that during a massive Russian attack on July 6 in Vyshneve, a fire broke out and explosions were heard following the strike. It was later reported that a secondary detonation occurred on the facility’s grounds. The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated, according to Dmytro Lykhoviy, a spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the Omsk Oil Refinery, located nearly 2,500 kilometers from the state border, had been hit. A direct hit followed by a fire was recorded on the refinery’s grounds.
