The Lima electronic warfare system helped neutralize 61 Russian Kinzhal missiles
The innovative Ukrainian electronic warfare system “Lima” helped neutralize 61 Russian X-47M2 “Kinzhal” hypersonic missiles. This was reported by the commander of the “Night Watch” unit, whose call sign is “Alchemist.”
According to him, “Lima” does not simply create radio jamming but uses digital suppression that combines jamming, spoofing, and a cyberattack on the missile’s navigation system. This allows it to transmit false coordinates, disorient the navigation computer, and force the missile to perform maneuvers that lead to its destruction in flight.
“Most of the 61 missiles simply fell apart under the influence of electronic warfare,” “Alchemist” stated.
According to him, after the destruction, the speed of the debris decreased significantly, which allowed Ukrainian specialists to recover nearly intact electronic components and hydraulic systems from the missiles for detailed study.
The commander also noted that during the investigation, they were able to analyze the operation of the “Kometa” navigation receiver and digital antenna array. He explained that when the antennas are positioned at a certain angle, suppressing them requires 127 times less energy, which initially made it possible to neutralize eight “Kinzhal” missiles.
