Putin's yacht, the Graceful, was towed from the Baltic Sea to a Russian Northern Fleet military base

The yacht Graceful, which U.S. authorities link to the Russian president, has moved from the Baltic Sea to Severomorsk—the main base of the Russian Northern Fleet.

According to the Danish broadcaster DR, which analyzed satellite imagery and data from MarineTraffic, in June 2026, for the first time in two years, the vessel activated its Automatic Identification System (AIS), listing Istanbul as its destination, but instead arrived at a closed military port in the Murmansk region.

During its passage through the Baltic and North Seas, the yacht was escorted by a Russian destroyer and a “Voevoda”-class vessel under the supervision of the German Coast Guard and the Danish Navy. After sailing along the Norwegian coast, the vessels turned off their transponders; however, satellite images from July 5 showed the Graceful and the “Voevoda” docked at a military base 70 km from Severomorsk.

According to U.S. government documents, Putin has repeatedly used the yacht Graceful for personal trips, including in 2021 during a voyage across the Black Sea with Alexander Lukashenko.
