North Korea has denied Zelenskyy's claim that 50,000 troops were sent to Russia
North Korea has denied reports that it may be sending up to 50,000 more troops to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine.
Kim Yo-jong, the sister of North Korea’s leader, called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement “baseless” and claimed that such allegations are fabricated.
At the same time, Kim Yo-jong accused the United States and Western countries of being responsible for starting and prolonging the war.
Separately, she stated that Washington’s policy toward Pyongyang remains hostile, despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to scale back U.S. military participation in joint exercises with South Korea.

Earlier, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung called on North Korea to come to the negotiating table and agree to end the war between the two countries. He also proposed discussing ways to halt Pyongyang’s nuclear program and pledged to work toward the peaceful coexistence of the two Koreas.
Last week, the South Korean military fired warning shots after several North Korean soldiers crossed the military demarcation line between the two countries.
