Kostenko named the figure after which Russia will feel a “shortage” in troops
People’s Deputy Roman Kostenko stated that a benchmark of 50,000 destroyed Russian occupiers per month could become critical for Russia’s ability to replenish its army.
He said this on Radio NV, commenting on calculations regarding Russia’s loss rates and mobilization.
According to him, this number could force the enemy to feel a “shortage” of personnel and lose the ability to form reserves.
Kostenko called these calculations “correct mathematics,” explaining the logic simply: it all comes down to mobilization resources and monthly recruitment in Russia.
He noted that Russia on average conscripts about 40,000 soldiers per month. At the same time, Ukraine, in his estimate, destroys 25,000 occupiers per month, with maximum figures reaching “30-something” — up to approximately 34,000.
The deputy emphasized that with the current ratio, the Russian army still gains — losses are offset by replenishment, and additional reserves are created.
However, if Ukraine manages to reach a level of 50,000 destroyed occupiers per month, Russia will have two options — either sharply increase recruitment or start “going into deficit.”
At the same time, according to Kostenko, Russia has little potential for significant mobilization increases, and they “really don’t want” to intensify pressure locally.
Recall, during the past day, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 1,070 occupiers.
