Kostiantynivka Remains Under the Control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Says General Staff
Reports that Russian troops have allegedly captured Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast are untrue. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the city remains under the full control of the Defense Forces, and that the statements circulated by the Russian side are yet another instance of disinformation.
Major Andriy Kovalyov, a spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that, according to data from the “Dzvyn” and DELTA operational situation monitoring systems, Kostiantynivka remains under the control of the Ukrainian military.
According to him, units of the 19th Army Corps of the “East” Operational Group of Forces are continuing defensive operations both within the city itself and on its outskirts.
The General Staff noted that Russian troops have not ceased their attempts to capture Kostiantynivka.
In particular, attempts by small infantry groups of one to three soldiers to infiltrate deep into the combat formations of Ukrainian defenders have been recorded.
Counter-sabotage operations are ongoing in the city, during which enemy groups are being identified and neutralized.
According to Andriy Kovalyov, Russian troops carried out 11 assault attacks in this sector on July 3.
All attempts to break through were unsuccessful, and Ukrainian forces continue to hold their designated defensive lines.
The General Staff emphasized that this is not the first time the Russian leadership has spread false information about the situation on the front lines.
“Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions along designated lines. The situation remains difficult but is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” emphasized General Staff spokesperson Andriy Kovalyov.
This was stated by Major Andriy Kovalyov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian army’s total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine have reached approximately 1,408,340 servicemen. In the past 24 hours alone, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,190 invaders.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi visited combat units holding defensive positions in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole sectors in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. During the visit, he discussed the situation on the front lines with commanders and issued the necessary orders to strengthen defenses. According to him, Russian troops continue to press forward, disregarding their losses.
Meanwhile, Roman Svitan, a reserve colonel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a military expert, believes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ operation in occupied Crimea has entered a new phase. He said that following strikes against Russian air defense systems and logistics, the main targets are now military facilities, energy infrastructure, and other infrastructure supporting the occupying forces.
