Lavrov called on the U.S. Secretary of State to evacuate diplomats from Kyiv
On May 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, warning that the Russian Armed Forces were about to launch systematic strikes on Kyiv.
This is reported by Russian propaganda media.
According to the information provided, Lavrov reminded Washington of his recommendation to other countries to evacuate their diplomatic personnel from Kyiv.
Lavrov also complained to Rubio that “the reckless efforts of the European elites and the Kyiv regime are undermining the spirit of Anchorage.”
The aggressor country, the Russian Federation, will continue to strike Kyiv, which the Russians traditionally refer to as retaliatory strikes.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced its intention to launch “systemic strikes” on Kyiv, claiming that the targets would allegedly be facilities involved in the development, production, and use of Ukrainian drones.
Ukraine believes that international partners should not succumb to Russian blackmail and threats of new strikes on Ukrainian cities, but should respond to the escalation proportionally and decisively—by increasing aid packages and providing additional missiles.
