The Russian Ministry of Defense announced a strike on Nova Poshta in the Odesa region

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that during a nighttime attack on Ukraine, it allegedly struck a “Nova Poshta” logistics center in the Odesa region. The Russian ministry also claims to have carried out strikes against Ukrainian ports and ships.

According to the Russian ministry, on the night of September 18, Russian troops allegedly attacked Ukrainian ports, ships, and logistics centers.

“Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian ports and ships, as well as against logistics centers operating on behalf of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The Russian side claims that in the Odesa region, at the port of Chornomorsk, a dry-cargo ship was struck, which allegedly was carrying military cargo.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also claimed to have struck the “Nova Poshta” logistics center, located approximately 6 km northwest of Odesa.

The Russian ministry claims that the facility was allegedly used to store and distribute military cargo arriving in Ukraine from European countries.

However, these claims by the Russian Ministry of Defense have not been independently verified.

According to local authorities, on the night of September 18, Russia launched a massive attack on the Odesa region. The strikes damaged civilian and industrial infrastructure.

According to preliminary reports, three people were injured.

Damage was also reported to residential areas, businesses, storage tanks, and warehouses.

Thus, information about damage to facilities in the Odesa region has been confirmed by the Ukrainian side; however, the Russian Ministry of Defense’s claim that the specific target was the “Nova Poshta” logistics center and that it was being used for military cargo requires separate confirmation.

The Odesa region regularly comes under rocket and drone attacks by Russia, during which the region’s port, transportation, industrial, and civilian infrastructure is damaged.

Nova Poshta had previously reported damage to its facilities in Odesa as a result of Russian attacks. Specifically, on May 1, 2025, a Russian drone struck the company’s cargo terminal in Odesa, causing significant damage to part of the building. No employees were inside the building at the time of the attack.

The consequences of the September 18 attack on the Odesa region are still being assessed.

This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
