In the Belgorod region, "Akhmat" fighters are looting and attacking locals

In the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Shebekinsky District of the Belgorod Region of Russia, local residents have reported incidents of looting by military personnel.

This was reported by a regional publication, citing eyewitness accounts.

According to residents, on April 9, several vehicles carrying soldiers arrived in the village; instead of license plates, they bore the inscription “Akhmat.”

Witnesses claim that armed men broke down the doors of houses and garages, carried property out of the homes, and threatened local residents with weapons.

Some residents reported that a man who tried to film the events on his phone was allegedly beaten with the butt of an automatic rifle.

According to eyewitnesses, residents called the police, but they allegedly were unable to intervene. There is currently no official confirmation of these claims.

It is also reported that the local administration did not take active measures to resolve the situation.

Residents note that similar incidents of looting have occurred in the village before, but open incidents in broad daylight, they say, have become unprecedented.

No official comments have been released by representatives of the “Akhmat” unit or regional authorities.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Forces detected and contained a small group of Russian soldiers hiding in the center of Kupiansk.

Ukrainian intelligence intercepted a conversation between Russian Armed Forces servicemen complaining about critical problems with food and water supplies at their positions. This indicates serious logistical difficulties for Russian units.
