Russia has lost more than a thousand soldiers and 82 artillery systems in the war against Ukraine
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated figures on Russian troop casualties as of the morning of April 21, 2026. The enemy has lost approximately 1,320,310 personnel, including 1,040 over the past 24 hours.
This is stated in a post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
The total combat losses of the Russian Federation since the start of the full-scale invasion are estimated at:
- personnel — approximately 1,320,310 (+1,040 in the past 24 hours)
- tanks — 11,884 units
- armored combat vehicles — 24,429 units (+7)
- artillery systems — 40,478 units (+82)
- multiple launch rocket systems — 1,749 units (+1)
- air defense systems — 1,350 units
- aircraft — 435 units
- helicopters — 350 units
- operational-tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles — 250,463 units (+1,905)
- cruise missiles — 4,549 units
- Ships and boats — 33 units
- submarines — 2 units
- Vehicles and tankers — 90,763 units (+192)
- special equipment — 4,132 units
The General Staff notes that the data is being updated.
Over the past 24 hours, 174 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines, during which Ukrainian defenders steadfastly repelled the advance of the occupying forces.

According to the DeepState monitoring project, Russian troops were able to advance near two villages in the Sumy community close to the state border over the past 24 hours.
In Zaporizhzhia, the occupiers seized a church and banned worshippers from praying.
