In the Chernihiv region, more than 50,000 people were left without power due to an attack by Russia

On the night of April 21, Russian forces launched strikes on Chernihiv and the Nizhyn district. The attack resulted in one fatality, several injuries, and widespread power outages. This was reported by local authorities, utility companies, and the police.

Chernihiv Mayor Oleksandr Lomak reported this.

According to the mayor of Chernihiv, the enemy targeted residential buildings, schools, and infrastructure facilities. There are casualties and one fatality in the city.

The mayor expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and thanked rescuers and medical personnel for their work at the sites of the attack.

Due to damage to an energy facility in the Nizhyn district, approximately 54,000 customers in Nizhyn and surrounding settlements were left without power. Utility workers have already begun restoration work.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian drones have attacked various areas of Chernihiv Oblast. In the Koryukivka district, a drone struck the yard of a residential building, injuring a 46-year-old man.

Additionally, in the Menska community, a house and a bathhouse burned down as a result of a fire following the strike, and several private homes were damaged in the Ponornytska community.

Authorities note that this is the second massive nighttime strike on Chernihiv in the past few days.

On the evening of April 20, two local residents were killed in an attack by an enemy FPV drone on Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The strike damaged high-rise buildings, private homes, and vehicles.
