An occupier who had trained two Olympic champions was killed on the front lines
Ukrainian troops killed 52-year-old Russian occupier Andriy Yaroslavtsev, who had worked as a coach before participating in the war against Ukraine. He had coached two Russian Olympic champions.
Andriy Yaroslavtsev was a Master of Sports in cross-country skiing and track and field. In 1992, he became the last-ever undisputed USSR junior cross-country skiing champion.
Starting in 1996, Yaroslavtsev worked in the Chastynsky District as a cross-country skiing coach and instructor at the local Children’s and Youth Sports School. His students repeatedly won medals at regional and all-Russian competitions.
In 2011, he moved to Tyumen, where he continued coaching. His students competed in All-Russian and international competitions.
Yaroslavtsev was part of the coaching staff that helped prepare 2022 Olympic champion Denis Spitsov. He also worked with 2022 Olympic champion Tatyana Sorina.
In 2024, Yaroslavtsev joined Russia’s criminal war against Ukraine.
On July 27, 2026, Yaroslavtsev was killed by the Defense Forces.
A funeral service for the eliminated occupier will be held on August 10, 2026. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
As a reminder, a gas station and a business were damaged as a result of a Russian attack on the Poltava region.
In Dnipro on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 soldiers and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
