A Ukrainian MiG-29 crashed in the Odesa region; the pilot ejected

On August 10, a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in the Odesa region. The pilot managed to eject and survived. According to the Air Force, the pilot was carrying out a combat mission to destroy enemy targets over the Odesa region.

“On the evening of August 10, 2026, a MiG-29 fighter jet of the Air Force was lost while carrying out a combat mission,” the Air Force said in a statement.

Military officials clarified that the pilot was intercepting aerial targets. According to preliminary data, the aircraft caught fire during the launch of an air-to-air missile, and the pilot lost control.

The Ukrainian pilot attempted to save the fighter jet but was unsuccessful. He then ejected. The pilot was evacuated to a medical facility.

The Air Force emphasized that the causes of the incident are being investigated.

Odesa Oblast has the highest number of complaints against the Territorial Defense Command.

In Lviv Oblast, a soldier was found dead in a Military Registration and Enlistment Office building.

Law enforcement officials in Odesa region exposed the organizer of an illegal scheme to smuggle conscripts abroad. According to police, 147 men were being smuggled out of the country under the guise of sailors.

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police uncovered nine new schemes to evade mobilization in various regions of the country. As part of special operations, 23 organizers of these schemes were detained; for a fee, they helped men subject to military service avoid conscription or illegally leave the country.
