More than 200 skirmishes took place on the front lines over the past 24 hours; the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled attacks near Pokrovsk
On July 8, 219 combat engagements between Ukrainian troops and Russian occupiers were recorded along the front line. The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk sector.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops made 26 attempts to attack the positions of the Defense Forces in this sector of the front. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled the assaults and inflicted casualties on the enemy.
During the fighting in the Pokrovsk sector, nearly fifty Russian soldiers were neutralized. The situation in certain sectors of the front remains tense.
“In total, 219 combat engagements have taken place since the start of this day. The enemy launched one missile strike using four missiles, carried out 52 airstrikes, and dropped 176 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 5,977 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,169 shelling attacks on populated areas and the positions of our troops,” the report states.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, our defenders repelled two enemy attacks. In addition, the occupiers carried out 32 shelling attacks on our troops’ positions and populated areas.
Over the past 24 hours, in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy twice stormed the positions of our units near Hoptivka.
In the Kupiansk sector today, the enemy launched two assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces near the settlements of Novoplatonivka and Kivsharivka.
Eight attempts by the invaders to advance were recorded in the Lyman sector in the areas of Shyikivka, Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Yampil, and Lyman.
In the Sloviansk sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 23 attempts by the invaders to advance near Kryva Luka, Zakitne, Riznykivka, and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka; another engagement is ongoing.
One enemy assault was recorded in the Kramatorsk sector near the village of Yurkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the Defense Forces repelled 22 enemy assaults near the settlements of Stepanivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, and Oleksandro-Shultyne.
In total, the enemy carried out 26 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas around the settlements of Svitle, Hulyve, Pokrovsk, Myrne, Matyashove, Bilytske, Dorozhne, Nikanorivka, Novyi Donbas, Rodynske, Kotlyne, and Udachne. Two firefights are ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, 37 occupiers were killed and 10 wounded here today; one artillery system, one vehicle, and one piece of the enemy’s specialized equipment were destroyed. Three artillery systems, two vehicles, and one enemy drone control station were damaged. A total of 262 drones of various types were destroyed or neutralized.
Our defenders repelled two attacks by the occupiers in the Oleksandrivka sector near Voskresenka.
Twenty-one attacks by the occupiers were recorded in the Huliaipil sector near the settlements of Hirke, Huliaipilsk, Rybne, Dobropillia, Vozdvizhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, Kosivtseve, Novoselivka, and Charivne.
On the Orikhiv sector, the enemy launched a single assault on the positions of our defenders near the settlement of Shcherbaky.
In the Dnipro sector, no enemy assaults were recorded today.
In other sectors, there were no significant changes in the situation, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 10:00 p.m.
The General Staff updated the Russian Federation’s casualty figures and reported the elimination of another 1,260 occupiers.
As a reminder, Russian forces struck Odesa—there are casualties, and infrastructure has been damaged.
The strike on Odesa was carried out with a missile equipped with a cluster warhead.
