The Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated the village of Novokhatske in Donetsk Oblast
The village of Novokhatske in the Volnovakha District of Donetsk Oblast is under the full control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The 37th Separate Marine Brigade, which carried out the mission jointly with soldiers from the 79th Separate Tavriya Airborne Assault Brigade, reported on the successful liberation operation.
Ukrainian marines and paratroopers drove the enemy out of their positions, despite the heavily mined terrain and fierce resistance from the Russian occupiers. As a result of the clash, the enemy suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment and was forced to retreat.
The village of Novokhatske is located in the Volnovakha district, near the administrative border with the Dnipropetrovsk region (near the village of Filiya). Previously, according to a July 6 report by the DeepState analytical project, the settlement was located within the enemy’s infiltration zone (the “gray zone”). The mop-up operation took place as part of offensive operations in the southern sector, which have been ongoing since early May under the command of the Marine Corps, with the participation of the 79th, 80th, and 95th Brigades.
This was reported by the 37th Separate Marine Brigade.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian forces have managed to liberate more than 670 square kilometers of territory. He also announced a series of measures against Russian forces, particularly in the occupied territories and in Crimea. According to him, these measures are aimed at weakening the enemy’s logistics and combat capabilities.
Russia is considering several scenarios for new offensive operations against Ukraine. According to Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the most likely directions could be the Chernihiv region, where the occupiers may attempt to break through from the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation.
