A total of 153 engagements were recorded on the front lines, with a third of the attacks concentrated in two sectors

Over the past 24 hours, 153 combat engagements took place along the front line, with the heaviest fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors. Ukrainian defenders repelled 28 attacks near Pokrovsk and another 19 assaults in the areas of the settlements of Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiivka, and Illinivka. 

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman sectors, the aggressor made more than ten attempts to break through the defenses, particularly toward Lyman and Stavky. Russian occupation forces were also active in the Huliaipole sector, where 12 attacks were recorded, and unsuccessfully attempted to storm positions near the Antonivsky Bridge. In the Northern Slobozhanskyi sector, the enemy used aerial bombs and carried out 84 shelling attacks on populated areas.

Defense forces continue to effectively contain the enemy’s advance in the Kramatorsk and Sloviansk sectors, where several assault operations were recorded. In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of offensive groupings forming have been detected. The Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain control of the situation and are inflicting losses on the enemy across all sectors of engagement.

Over the past 24 hours, on April 18, the Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized 1,070 Russian invaders; the total enemy personnel losses in the war have exceeded 1,318,000.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated Russian occupier Sukhrob Sidikov, who was a medalist at the World Student Boxing Championships.

On the front lines, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers eliminated Yuriy Hrytsenko, known as the “Zelenograd maniac.” After serving his sentence, he joined the war against Ukraine.
