Russia's threats of new strikes on Kyiv are a reaction to setbacks on the front lines — Flash

At present, there are no signs that Russian troops are preparing for another large-scale attack on Ukrainian territory, and the Kremlin’s threats appear to be a reaction to the lack of positive developments on the front lines and the public outcry in Russia over Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries.

This was stated on television by Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense.

The advisor noted that Russian airfields and Iskander tactical missile systems are operating as usual, although the enemy may indeed attempt to launch more powerful strikes. Commenting on the air defense system’s ability to protect Kyiv, Beskrestnov highlighted the high effectiveness of mobile units and interceptor aircraft, which are currently shooting down up to 40% of “Shahed” kamikaze drones.

At the same time, the main problem remains the shortage of anti-aircraft missiles for the Patriot systems, as the Russians are actively using ballistic missiles, and the supply capabilities of European partners are limited. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is capable of producing about 60 ballistic missiles per month, which are distributed across the entire front line; therefore, the enemy is unable to carry out massive ballistic attacks on a daily basis. Serhiy Beskrestnov also assured that Ukraine is ready to deliver a symmetrical and painful response against Russian targets, particularly in Moscow and the Moscow region, should there be attempts to attack the Ukrainian capital or decision-making centers.

The aggressor state, the Russian Federation, will continue to strike Kyiv, which the Russians traditionally refer to as retaliatory strikes.

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced its intention to carry out “systemic strikes” on Kyiv, claiming that the targets would allegedly be facilities involved in the development, production, and use of Ukrainian drones.
