271 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines over the past 24 hours; the fiercest fighting is taking place in the Pokrovsk sector
Over the past 24 hours, there were 271 combat engagements along the front line, and Russian forces significantly intensified their airstrikes and drone attacks. The situation remains most tense in the Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka sectors.
According to military reports, over the past day, the Russian army launched one missile strike using a single missile and carried out 90 airstrikes, dropping 272 guided bombs.
In addition, the occupiers deployed 10,063 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,065 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 42 strikes from multiple-launch rocket systems.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck key enemy military targets. Specifically, the following were hit:
- eight areas where enemy personnel were concentrated;
- five command posts;
- four drone control centers;
- five artillery systems;
- three command posts;
- an ammunition depot;
- two other key Russian military facilities.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, two clashes with the enemy occurred over the past day; the aggressor carried out 55 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our units 12 times in the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Lyman, and Artilne, as well as toward the settlements of Kudiivka and Khatne.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy carried out two attacks toward the settlements of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Kivsharivka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attempted to breach our defenses 17 times, attacking in the areas around the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Kopanky, Drobysheve, Yampil, Nadiya, and Novoselivka, as well as toward the settlements of Borova, Lyman, Ozerne, and Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched 27 assaults toward the settlements of Kryva Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka, as well as in the areas of Riznykivka and Zakytne.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders carried out two attacks in the area of Nikiforivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy carried out 18 attacks in the areas around the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Ivanopillia, as well as toward Stepanivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 51 assaults by the aggressor in the areas around the settlements of Ivanivka, Dorozhne, Hryshyne, Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, and toward the settlements of Vilne, Kucheriiv Yar, Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne, and Serhiivka.
On the Oleksandrivka front, the enemy launched four attacks in the Kalynivske area and toward Verbove.
In the Huliaipil sector, the occupiers carried out 24 attacks toward the settlements of Dobropillia, Hirke, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, Vozdvizhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, Charivne, and Olenokostyantynivka.
In the Orikhiv and Dnipro sectors, the enemy did not conduct any offensive operations over the past day.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.
This is stated in the operational report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 8:00 a.m. on July 8.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have reduced the strength of the Russian army by another 1,260 troops. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released updated data on enemy losses as of July 8, also reporting the destruction of a significant amount of enemy equipment.
As a reminder, Russian forces struck Odesa—there are casualties, and infrastructure has been damaged.
The strike on Odesa was carried out with a missile equipped with a cluster warhead.
