In the Kyiv region, 27 people were killed in an attack by the Russian Federation; children were among the victims
At least 27 people were killed in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region as a result of a Russian attack.
However, this number may rise as search and rescue operations continue at the site of the strike.
“Efforts to address the aftermath of the enemy strike in the Bucha district are ongoing. We are coordinating all relevant services on the ground. Unfortunately, as of now, 27 deaths have been reported. And this number may not be final. I extend my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones,” he said.
According to Tkachenko, emergency rescue and firefighting operations are continuing at the scene of the incident.
Rescue workers are:
- dismantling collapsed structures;
- extinguishing fires;
- search and rescue operations;
- inspecting damaged buildings and the surrounding area.
Medical services are also on the scene.
According to available information, 42 people, including four children, sustained injuries of varying severity.
All victims received the necessary medical care. Seven victims were hospitalized.
Rescue workers and relevant services have evacuated 381 people, including 59 children, from the emergency zone.
An emergency response headquarters has been set up in Dmytrivka, where local residents can receive assistance and necessary information.
The headquarters offers:
- counseling regarding the aftermath of the attack;
- hot meals;
- psychological support;
- information on temporary housing for people whose homes were damaged.
At the same time, an assessment of the damage caused to the community is ongoing. Currently, about 50 residential buildings are known to have been damaged as a result of the attack.

On the morning of August 29, Russian troops once again attacked energy infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region using Shahed-type strike drones. The attack damaged energy facilities, leaving more than 300,000 customers without power.
Overnight, Russian troops attacked the grounds of a hospital in Sumy, damaging two ambulances, a civilian car, and the hospital’s entrance.
In the Chernihiv region on August 28, three people were injured as a result of Russian attacks. Two women suffered acoustic trauma after an FPV drone struck the car in which they were traveling. Another man was injured in an attack on a civilian facility.
Russian forces attacked Kherson with drones in the morning, killing one man and wounding two others. The Korabelny and Dniprovsky districts of the city were hit.
On the night of August 29, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using missiles and 267 attack drones.
In the Odesa region, one person was killed and three others were injured as a result of the enemy strike. The attack also caused eight trucks carrying food supplies to catch fire.
On the afternoon of August 28, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with seven “Banderole” missiles and 96 attack drones. Most of the drones were jet-powered, and the enemy directed a significant portion of them toward Kyiv.
As a result of the August 28 attack, Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized most of the aerial targets launched by Russia; however, at the time of the evening update, some drones were still in Ukrainian airspace. The Ukrainian Air Force reported the attack.
Earlier, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike against a facility in Kryvyi Rih.
As a reminder, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles.
Prior to that, Russia had attacked warehouses and energy infrastructure in the Odesa region.
