A 20-year-old woman was killed in Sumy Oblast as a result of enemy artillery fire

A 20-year-old woman was killed today in the Zno-Novgorod community of the Shostka district in Sumy region as a result of artillery shelling by Russian forces. Her 6-year-old sister was wounded.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported this on Telegram.


“On March 28, around 12:00 p.m., according to preliminary data, the enemy fired artillery at a house of civilians in the Zno-Novgorod community of the Shostka district,” the statement reads.

A 20-year-old woman was killed. Her 6-year-old sister sustained serious injuries.

Prosecutors, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the attack.

Under the procedural guidance of the Shostka District Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation is underway into the commission of a war crime resulting in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As a reminder, on the night of March 28, Maternity Hospital No. 5 in Odesa was attacked by a Russian drone. All children and patients were successfully evacuated, and the youngest patients, who required mechanical ventilation, were saved thanks to a bomb shelter equipped with an intensive care unit. 

Also, Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, Poltava region, Svyrydenko on the consequences of the nighttime strikes.

The Russians shelled 8 settlements in the Donetsk region.
