The National Police has documented the participation of hundreds of foreign mercenaries in the war against Ukraine

Investigators from the National Police of Ukraine have gathered evidence regarding the participation of hundreds of foreign nationals in hostilities against Ukraine as part of illegal armed groups of the Russian Federation. Law enforcement officials are determining their roles and the routes they took to join the war.

According to Maksym Tsutsikiridze, First Deputy Head of the National Police and Head of the Main Investigation Department, efforts to identify and bring foreign mercenaries to justice are ongoing.

“Investigators have already gathered evidence regarding hundreds of such individuals who participated in illegal armed groups on Russia’s side,” Tsutsikiridze stated.

The National Police note that the effectiveness of investigations directly depends on the rapid exchange of information and coordination with international partners. It is precisely this cooperation that has already made it possible to detain one such militant on U.S. soil.
