Nighttime strike on the Kyiv region: Russia damaged one of the largest bioenergy thermal power plants
On the night of May 29, the Russian army attacked and partially destroyed a bioenergy power plant in the village of Ivankiv, Kyiv Oblast. This is one of the largest bioenergy facilities in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, with a capacity of 19 MW. The shelling damaged the plant’s infrastructure, in which approximately $40 million had been invested.
This was reported by Oleksiy Butenko, founder of the company "Biogazenergo," which built the power plant.
"For some, it’s just an industrial facility. For me, it’s a part of my life. One of the largest biofuel power plants in Eastern Europe. $40 million in investments. Over 400 jobs. A partnership with the EBRD," Butenko noted, adding that the company intends to restore the damaged facility.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, two women were injured as a result of Russian attacks on May 28. According to the Regional Military Administration, over the past 24 hours, occupying forces carried out 689 strikes on 40 settlements in the region. The women, aged 58 and 65, were injured.
On the night of May 28, Russian occupiers carried out another attack with strike drones on the southern part of the Odesa region. A private residential building and an infrastructure facility were damaged as a result of the enemy shelling.
In Kherson, a woman was injured as a result of another Russian shelling of the Korabelny district. She was hospitalized in serious condition.
Over the past day, 13 civilians were injured due to Russian attacks in the Sumy region. Dozens of settlements in the region came under fire, and Russian drones attacked civilian vehicles, homes, and farms.
