An officer from the headquarters of the Russian Federation’s 41st Army was killed in Donetsk
Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Moiseenko was killed during a Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on Russian military targets in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk. According to the KIU OSINT project, he was a senior officer in the operations directorate of the headquarters of Russia’s 41st Guards Combined Arms Army.
On the night of August 26–27, the Ukrainian military struck the main and backup command posts of Russian forces in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk.
According to researchers, Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Moiseenko was killed during the attack. He served as a senior officer in the Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation’s 41st Guards Combined Arms Army. “Initial reports on the officers targeted in Donetsk: Russian war criminal Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Viktorovich Moiseenko — a senior officer of the operations department of the headquarters of the Russian Federation’s 41st Guards Combined Arms Army — was killed on the night of August 26–27, 2026,” the KIU statement reads.
Thus, among the Russian military personnel who were at the struck facilities was a staff officer of one of the Russian Federation’s army formations.
His death was confirmed by his wife
The deceased was identified based on his personal information. Andriy Moiseenko is also listed in the “Myrotvorets” database. The first name, last name, and patronymic listed there match the details of the Russian officer who was killed in Donetsk. Moiseenko’s death was also confirmed by his wife. He would have turned 57 on September 1.
Earlier reports indicated that command posts of Russian units may have been hit during the strike on Russian military facilities in Donetsk. According to Ukrainian sources, a meeting of Russian military officials may have been taking place at one of these locations. At the same time, details of the strike and the number of other possible casualties among Russian military personnel are currently being clarified. According to KIU, Moiseyenko’s death marks yet another loss among Russian officers participating in the war against Ukraine.
