Lukoil's refinery in Kstovo has partially halted operations following a drone attack — Reuters
Lukoil-Nizhegorodorgsintez, Russia’s fourth-largest oil refinery, located in the city of Kstovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region, has partially suspended operations following a drone strike.
Reuters reported this, citing informed industry sources.
Due to the drone attack, the company was forced to completely shut down its main processing unit, AVT-6.
This incident significantly undermines the aggressor’s production capacity, as the plant is the second-largest producer of automotive gasoline in the Russian Federation.
The shutdown of the key AVT-6 industrial unit will inevitably lead to a sharp and critical drop in the refinery’s total production volumes.
This unit is typically capable of processing approximately 25,700 metric tons of feedstock per day, equivalent to roughly 190,000 barrels.
Such volumes account for over 53% of the total capacity of the entire large oil refinery complex in Kstovo.
This disruption is expected to further destabilize the enemy’s energy sector and create a serious shortage in domestic fuel supplies.
In total, this strategic facility of the occupiers’ fuel industry has the technical capacity to process up to 16 million metric tons of oil annually.
In Ryazan, strange precipitation with the smell of fuel was recorded following the attack on the refinery
Attacks on oil refineries have costRussia over $7 billion since the start of the year — WP.
The day before, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Tuapse oil refinery for the fourth time in the last two weeks. A massive fire broke out on the refinery grounds following a series of explosions.
Drones attacked Tuapse again, causing fires at the refinery and in the port.
In Tuapse, refinery capacity has decreased following the latest attack.
