Occupiers in the South Begin Increasing Use of Motorcycles and Buggies in Assaults
Russian forces in southern Ukraine have changed their assault tactics and are increasingly using motorcycles, ATVs, and buggies to quickly traverse dangerous areas in front of Ukrainian positions.
This was reported on the air by the spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.
According to him, the tactical changes are related to battlefield conditions.
“There is no snow yet, and the greenery hasn’t appeared, so when reconnaissance drones rise, everything is visible from far away. The enemy is trying to operate more covertly and advance further,” Voloshyn noted.
He explained that occupiers have to cover longer distances to reach Ukrainian positions, so they use light vehicles to quickly pass through the so-called “kill zone.”
“We have recorded that the enemy has again begun using motorcycles, ATVs, buggies, and other light motorized equipment on some directions to traverse this area as quickly as possible and reach positions for attack,” the spokesperson said.
In addition, according to the Defense Forces, Russian troops are moving armored vehicles closer to the line of combat engagement.
In particular, units of the 40th Separate Marine Brigade of Russia’s Pacific Fleet recently attempted to attack Ukrainian positions with a column of armored and light vehicles, but Ukrainian forces detected it in advance and struck it.
Voloshyn also reported that the Defense Forces destroy a significant amount of enemy equipment daily.
“Every day we destroy two to three tanks, three to five infantry fighting vehicles, as well as over a dozen light motorized vehicles — buggies, ATVs, and motorcycles,” he added.
It is worth recalling that President Zelensky reported that this winter, the Armed Forces held all key defensive positions.
Additionally, near Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces neutralized a group of Russian soldiers who were attempting to mine a road.
