The Joint Staff warned of the risk of new Russian provocations against the Baltic states and NATO

Russia's increasingly aggressive rhetoric toward the Baltic states may indicate that it is preparing new provocations against NATO member states.

This was stated by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council.

According to him, statements by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service often precede specific actions or provocations by Moscow.

“More often than not, statements by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service precede Russian intentions to carry out certain actions or provocations,” Kovalenko noted.

The Center for Countering Disinformation drew attention to the escalation of Russia’s aggressive information campaign against the Baltic states, as well as the risk of drone and hybrid provocations.

Kovalenko suggested that against this backdrop, Russia may resort to new destabilizing actions against NATO member states.

Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, held a meeting on military equipment and announced the preparation of a new state armament program for 2026–2030.

Belarus continues to build infrastructure facilities deep within its territory and is not moving them closer to the Ukrainian border. At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that Russia may use these facilities in the future to deploy additional forces and equipment.

Journalists have established that Belarus continues to play a significant role in supplying the Russian military-industrial complex, providing chassis, electronics, and other key components for Russian military equipment. The value of these supplies in recent years has already reached billions of dollars.
