Russians shelled nine settlements in the Sumy region
Russian troops struck the Sumy region nearly 20 times over the past 24 hours. Nine settlements in five communities came under fire, resulting in damage to homes, civilian infrastructure, and an educational institution. According to preliminary reports, no civilians were injured.
According to the Regional Military Administration, Russian forces attacked the Sumy region from the morning of September 5 through the morning of September 6, 2026. During this time, nearly 20 shelling incidents were recorded in nine settlements. In total, five territorial communities came under fire. The Sumy and Shostka districts saw the most attacks. Russian forces shelled the Sumy, Yunakivka, Khotyn, Esman, and Shostka communities.
The Russian military used various weapons in the attacks. In particular, the Russians struck the region with mortars, artillery, FPV drones, other unmanned aerial vehicles, and guided aerial bombs. Despite the number of strikes, there were no civilian casualties.
At the same time, the Russian shelling caused damage to civilian facilities. In the Sumy community, a civilian infrastructure facility and a private residential building were damaged. In the Shostka community, Russian shelling damaged another private home. The most extensive damage was recorded in the Seredino-Budsk community. There, private residential homes, civilian infrastructure facilities, and an educational institution were damaged.
Russian troops regularly shell border communities in the Sumy region. They use both artillery and mortars, as well as drones and aerial bombs, in their attacks. Due to their proximity to the border with Russia, some of the region’s settlements are effectively under threat of new strikes on a daily basis. Communities located near the Russian border remain particularly vulnerable.

Russian troops attacked the Zaporizhzhia region 886 times over the past day, with 54 settlements coming under fire. As a result of the shelling, one person was killed, another 25 residents were injured, and homes, vehicles, and infrastructure were damaged.
Russian troops attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 20 times throughout the evening and night. The Nikopol, Synelnykiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Pavlohrad districts were hit, and two people were injured.
