During the Russian attack, F-16s and Mirage 2000s shot down at least 10 cruise missiles

F‑16 and Mirage 2000 fighter jets, supplied to Ukraine by Western partners, continue to operate effectively in the air. During a massive Russian attack on 19 November, they shot down at least ten enemy cruise missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

 

 

The Air Force recalled that the F‑16s entered service in Ukraine in August 2024. Since then, the American fighter jets have intercepted and destroyed more than 1,300 Russian aerial targets.

 

“In particular, during today’s repulsion of the attack, F‑16 and Mirage 2000 pilots intercepted and shot down at least ten enemy cruise missiles,” the Air Force said.

 

The F‑16s have also been repeatedly involved in air support missions on the front line. The fighters have struck more than 300 ground targets, destroying hundreds of pieces of equipment, command posts, logistics facilities, ammunition depots, and Russian UAV control centers.

 

“F‑16 pilots and ground aviation personnel work around the clock under extremely difficult and demanding conditions. The only thing on everyone’s mind right now is the uninterrupted and timely supply of aviation munitions from Western partners. Without a sufficient number of bombs and missiles, the F‑16s cannot help us defeat the enemy!” the Air Force added.
