On the night of July 6–7, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Kryvyi Rih. The attack struck a civilian infrastructure facility, causing a large-scale fire.
According to him, in the early morning, the occupiers used a “Shahed”-type jet drone, which struck a logistics facility.
“Preliminary reports indicate no casualties, but we will only be able to say for certain after the aftermath has been dealt with,” Vilkul noted.
According to publicly available information, a “Nova Poshta” terminal was damaged. Photos and videos posted online show significant destruction on the grounds of the logistics complex.
Rescue workers managed to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings. Despite the large area affected by the blaze, the fire was contained by 6:25 a.m. Eleven fire and rescue crews from the State Emergency Service were deployed to address the aftermath. Efforts to fully extinguish the fire were ongoing.
Despite the attack, utility services, public transportation, and medical and social facilities in Kryvyi Rih are operating as usual.
The monitoring channel “eRadar” reported that Russia is likely preparing attacks on “Nova Poshta” sorting terminals in Kropyvnytskyi and Poltava. However, there is currently no official confirmation of this information.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov believes that the threat of new large-scale missile strikes on Ukraine remains high. According to him, even after the recent massive attacks, Russia has not exhausted its missile capabilities.
“We know that, as our intelligence has reported, they have up to a thousand missiles of various types. And the largest number of these missiles are ‘Iskanders,’” Zhdanov noted.
The expert does not rule out that a new wave of massive shelling could occur in the coming days.
