The Port of Novorossiysk continues to ship oil following a drone attack

The Port of Novorossiysk continues to ship oil following a drone attack

Russia’s key Black Sea oil terminal, which was recently attacked by drones, remains operational and is loading oil despite the damage and previous strikes. Satellite data shows that the port has not halted exports, and tankers are once again mooring at the docks. Reuters reports this, citing satellite imagery and analytical data.

According to Planet Labs PBC, all three berths at the Sheshkharis oil terminal in the port of Novorossiysk remain active. Satellite images show tankers loading oil and moored near the port infrastructure.

Novorossiysk is Russia’s largest port on the Black Sea and one of the key hubs for the export of raw materials, including oil. A significant portion of Russia’s Black Sea energy supplies passes through it. Despite regular drone attacks, the port continues to operate, with the latest drone strike occurring on Saturday.

Attacks on Russian port infrastructure in the Black Sea are not unprecedented and are aimed at disrupting the logistics of oil and petroleum product exports. At the same time, satellite data indicates that even after strikes, Russia’s critical infrastructure quickly resumes operations, maintaining export flows.
