Air defense forces shot down 139 out of 155 drones during a massive attack by Russia
Ukraine's air defense forces have destroyed or intercepted 139 of the 155 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country since the evening of April 22.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attack began around 6:00 p.m. The occupiers used Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones), as well as “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and other drones. The launches were carried out from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. About a hundred of the drones were Shaheds.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
As of 8:00 a.m. on April 23, Ukrainian defenders had neutralized 139 enemy drones in the northern, southern, and eastern regions.
At the same time, 11 strike UAVs were recorded hitting nine locations. Debris from downed drones fell in four additional locations.
The air attack continues—several enemy drones remain in the sky.
In Dnipro, the number of people wounded as a result of the Russian strike rose to nine, and two more people were killed.
Prior to this, Russian troops carried out about 40 strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region, using artillery, aerial bombs, and drones. The Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih, and Synelnykiv districts came under fire, resulting in reported damage.
