Air defense forces shot down 172 Russian drones during the attack; some were hit
On the night of April 30, Russia launched a large-scale air strike against Ukraine, using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 206 attack drones of various types.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.
It is noted that starting at 6:00 p.m. on April 29, the enemy launched a ballistic missile from the Rostov region and deployed Shahed-type drones, including jet-powered ones, Gerbera, “Italmas,” and other drones from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Shatalovo, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea.
More than 140 of the drones launched were “Shahed” models.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:00, air defense forces had destroyed or neutralized 172 enemy drones in various directions—the north, south, west, and east of the country.
At the same time, a ballistic missile and 32 strike drones were recorded hitting 22 locations. Additionally, debris from downed targets fell at 9 more locations.
“The attack is ongoing; there are several enemy drones in the airspace. Follow safety guidelines!” the Air Force emphasized.
In the Mykolaiv region, five people were injured as a result of an attack by Russian Shahed-type drones.
In Mykolaiv, one of the city’s districts lost power due to the drone attack.
