Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin stated that the strike with an “Oreshnik” missile on Ukrainian territory was necessary to test the accuracy of its warheads. According to him, the missile launch was of a test nature and allowed for an assessment of the system’s effectiveness under real-world conditions. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of further full-scale use of this weapon, particularly for strikes on cities.
"We struck a 'barn' in Ukraine with the 'Oreshnik' to see how the warheads performed; this is necessary for the future use of the weapon." This was reported by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the heads of major international news agencies, adding that he does not rule out the full-scale use of the "Oreshnik" in the future.
According to Putin, new strike systems are emerging in Russia, and this applies to the "Oreshnik" as well.
The Russian dictator added that there has not been a single combat use of "Oreshnik" in Ukraine "in the full sense of the word."
"Oreshnik" was used to strike a "barn" in Ukraine to see how the blocks fell; this is necessary for the future use of the weapon," Putin said.
He clarified that in the latest strike with the "Oreshnik" against Ukraine, they targeted areas where it was convenient to observe the results.
At the same time, Putin did not rule out future decisions regarding the full-scale use of the "Oreshnik" against targets, including in urban areas.
