NABU Director Kryvonos denied having provided security guarantees to Prosecutor General Kravchenko
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos called Prosecutor General Kravchenko’s claims—that the heads of anti-corruption agencies had given him security guarantees in exchange for not initiating investigations against them—nonsense.
Kravchenko claimed that previously, the president and the anti-corruption officials themselves had held him back from taking action against NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), allegedly by offering guarantees of immunity.
“It’s nonsense to speculate about whether or not they guaranteed him anything,” Kryvonos replied.
This was discussed at a briefing attended by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and SAPO Head Oleksandr Klymenko on September 14.
The Anti-Corruption Action Center stated that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko left Ukraine after signing the notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. The Anti-Corruption Action Center claims that this may have been done in exchange for the opportunity to leave the country.
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that he is abroad on an official business trip.
The Anti-Corruption Center stated that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko allegedly left Ukraine after signing the notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. The Anti-Corruption Center claims that this may have been done in exchange for the opportunity to leave the country.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have denied Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s statements regarding the alleged notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and offers of immunity.
