Putin says deployment of European troops in Ukraine would mean war with Russia
In Turkey, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin — the leader of an aggressor state — said on September 12 that the deployment of European military personnel in Ukraine would mean war with Moscow. Anadolu Agency reports, citing the Russian state agency TASS.
Statement on European troops
“Now they are talking about how to send troops to Ukraine. This means war with Russia,” Putin told journalists.
He also claimed that Europe is allegedly pushing its countries toward war with Russia. According to Putin, Western countries are trying to “finish off” Russia by using Ukraine.

Claims about security and energy
Putin stated that Moscow does not threaten European countries and has no intention of threatening them. He claimed that “European elites” are intimidating the population with an imagined threat from Russia and that, in his words, there are no grounds for a conflict with Europe.
Separately, he said that Europe’s mistakes in energy policy would lead to higher gas prices for consumers. Putin also said that Russia sells energy resources at market prices.
