Putin denied his own statements regarding the agreements reached with Trump in Anchorage

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has radically changed his rhetoric regarding the outcome of his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, which took place in Alaska.

The Kremlin leader suddenly stated that during the summit in Anchorage, the parties did not reach any official agreements on ending the war in Ukraine.

These statements directly contradict previous claims by Russian authorities about allegedly agreed-upon compromises between the two countries.

During a conversation with Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin, Putin attempted to downplay the legal significance of the past negotiations.

He emphasized that during the dialogue with the American side, “no one signed anything,” and that the summit participants merely discussed possible ways to resolve the conflict.

“There really were no agreements in Anchorage,” the Russian dictator concluded, commenting on the legal status of the discussions at that time.

However, this new position from the Kremlin exposes the blatant inconsistency of the Russian leadership, since as recently as June 4, Vladimir Putin had asserted the exact opposite.

At that time, he officially stated: “Ukraine is not ready for the compromises agreed upon in Anchorage.” Furthermore, following the August summit, Russian officials actively manipulated the so-called “spirit of Anchorage” for a long time, constantly referring to fictitious agreements with Washington.

The talks, attended by U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, took place on August 15, 2025, in Anchorage and lasted nearly three hours.

The American side did indeed offer Moscow a number of compromise options, but none of them resulted in a legally binding document.

After the meeting concluded, the U.S. president called the dialogue productive but immediately emphasized that no agreements had been signed.
