Matvienko demanded that Russians under the age of 35 have at least three children
Valentina Matvienko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, called on citizens of the aggressor country to start large families at a young age, setting the age of 35 as the optimal cutoff for fulfilling demographic and professional goals.
According to the Shepetivka native, who herself has only one child, Russians should manage not only to establish themselves in their careers but also to have at least three children by the age of 35, before moving on to the next age group.
The official made these remarks during a meeting with participants in the cultural and educational project “Train of Memory.” Matvienko spoke out against initiatives to further extend the definition of “youth” through legislation, emphasizing that the current threshold is entirely sufficient for achieving these goals. At the same time, she added that the government is open to discussions about adjusting the age limits for youth if citizens themselves express a desire to be officially considered young only until age 30; however, the main focus should remain on starting a family early and having multiple children.

In Russia, amid an acute gasoline shortage and a fuel crisis, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko urged citizens “not to dramatize” the situation and to “seek solutions.” At the same time, the authorities acknowledge the difficulties, and the fuel market continues to decline.
