Russia is stepping up its efforts to advance toward Kupiansk and infiltrate the city
Russian troops have intensified their attempts to advance toward Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, particularly from the north, in an effort to infiltrate the city.
This was reported on television by Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation.
According to him, active attempts by the enemy to enter through the village of Holubivka have been recorded.
“There is currently an attempt to advance through the village of Holubivka north of the city and an attempt to infiltrate through it. Unfortunately, the Russians have moved a little closer than they were before, so these attempts are quite active now, as the distance between Russian positions and the city of Kupiansk has decreased,” Tregubov said.
He noted that due to the presence of “green zone” cover, the enemy is trying to intensify such actions, but Ukrainian defense forces are repelling them.
According to the spokesperson, on the left bank of the Oskil River, Russian troops are attempting to reduce the Ukrainian foothold and advance toward Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
He also emphasized that statements by Russian leadership regarding the alleged capture of Kupiansk do not correspond to reality.
