Russia attacked Dnipropetrovsk region more than 20 times, causing injuries and destruction
Russian forces carried out more than 20 strikes on Dnipropetrovsk region. There are civilian casualties and significant damage to civilian infrastructure.
This was reported on Telegram by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.
According to the official, over the past day and during the night of 20 February, Russian occupying forces launched more than 20 attacks on the region. The enemy used drones, artillery and Grad multiple launch rocket systems.
The Nikopol, Pavlohrad and Synelnykove districts came under enemy fire.
The heaviest shelling was recorded in Nikopol, as well as in the Marhanets and Pokrovske communities. As a result of the attacks, a 42-year-old man was injured and hospitalised in a moderate condition. Enterprises, a gymnasium (secondary school), banking institutions, a post office branch, a café, a shop and around ten vehicles were damaged.
In the Bohdanivka community of the Pavlohrad district, a 48-year-old woman was wounded. Doctors assess her condition as moderate. The shelling caused fires in residential buildings, and several cars were destroyed.
In the Synelnykove district, the Dubovykivka and Vasylkivka communities were struck. An 87-year-old woman was injured there, a fire broke out, and residential buildings were damaged.
Regional authorities emphasised that the safety of civilians remains a priority. All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attacks and provide assistance to those affected.
On the evening of 19 February, Russian forces also carried out a drone attack on Ukrainian cities.
Following the attack, consumers in five regions were left without electricity.
