Russia attacked Ukraine with 162 drones; air defense forces shot down 134 drones
Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 134 of the 162 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country beginning on the evening of August 25.
Starting at 6:00 p.m. on August 25, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 162 strike UAVs. Among them were Shahed-type drones, including jet-powered ones, “Gerbera” drones, and “Parody” decoy drones.
The launches were carried out from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk, and Gvardeyskoye in occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m. on August 26, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 134 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, strikes were recorded at 18 locations, and downed aerial targets and their debris were found at three locations.
The Air Force noted that the attack is ongoing and that several Russian drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.

On the morning of August 26, Russian troops carried out an airstrike on Sloviansk in the Donetsk region; explosions were heard in the central part of the city. According to preliminary data, the occupiers may have used guided bombs; information on casualties is being verified.
In the Chernihiv region and in Slavutych, 30,000 customers are without power following an attack by the Russian Federation.
As a reminder, on August 23, Russian forces attacked a railway station in the Kharkiv region with a drone while a passenger train evacuating people was stopped. Two women were killed in the strike, and five others were injured.
On August 23, Russian terrorist forces attacked Ukraine’s railway infrastructure five times. One person was killed and four others were injured as a result of the strikes.
On August 23, Russian forces attacked the locomotive of passenger train No. 147, traveling from Zhytomyr to Odesa, with a jet-powered drone. The train was stopped and passengers were evacuated before the strike, so neither passengers nor railway workers were harmed.
