Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia, leaving 40,000 consumers without power; one person injured

On the morning of March 19, Russian forces struck infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the attack, one person was injured and part of the city was left without electricity.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, on Telegram.

“Russians are attacking the infrastructure of the regional centre. Voltage fluctuations may be observed in some areas of the city,” he said.

According to preliminary data, the injured person is in serious condition, and medics were urgently dispatched to the scene.

Due to the enemy shelling, more than 38,000 residential and around 2,000 business consumers were left without electricity. Critical infrastructure facilities are being switched to backup power sources to ensure uninterrupted operation.

On the evening of March 18, near the Novovolynsk community in the Volyn region, Russian drones struck an energy facility. The facility was seriously damaged and a fire broke out. Emergency services are working at the scene.

Later that evening, Russian forces struck near Novovolynsk, a few kilometres from the Polish border. As a result of the hit on an energy facility, power outages and water supply disruptions were recorded in the city.
