Russia is disguising ammunition as civilian cargo in Mariupol
Significant changes in the military logistics of Russian forces have been observed in the temporarily occupied territories, particularly in the methods used to transport cargo and move convoys.
Recently, the occupiers have been making extensive use of fuel tankers and blue trucks to transport ammunition.
While such methods were previously observed mainly in the Mariupol area, such vehicles are now also being spotted on routes from the Rostov region of the Russian Federation and from occupied Crimea.
It is estimated that up to 20 cargo vehicles using this camouflage pass through these routes daily.
In addition, Russian troops continue to move military convoys, though they are now traveling in smaller groups. The main route runs from the Berdyansk area toward the north of the Donetsk region. These convoys are accompanied by fire support units, representatives of the military commandant’s office, and the Russian National Guard.
Andriushchenko notes that such changes may indicate either attempts to reduce logistical vulnerability or a temporary sense of security along the routes.
“This is either a sign of desperation or a solution they’ve found. Time will tell,” he emphasized.
At the same time, the logistics routes of Russian troops in the Donetsk region remain vulnerable to attack.
This was reported by Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation.
As a reminder, on June 20, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released photos of the aftermath of a strike on the Moscow Oil Refinery, stating that its operations had come to a complete halt. According to military sources, a large-scale attack by Ukrainian drones struck processing equipment and fuel tanks, bringing the facility to a standstill.
On the night of June 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes on a number of Russian military facilities. Among the targets was a bridge near Henichesk, which the occupiers use to transport equipment and resupply their troops between occupied Crimea and the southern front.
In Taganrog, Russia, a power substation that supplied electricity to the “Atlant-Aero” defense enterprise was damaged. As a result, production lines involved in the manufacture of drones were disrupted.
