Russia struck a high-rise building in Sumy; there are injuries

On the morning of October 6, Russian troops attacked Sumy with strike drones. One of the enemy drones struck a 10-story residential building, injuring two people, including a 16-year-old boy.

“This morning, the city of Sumy came under attack by Russian UAVs. One of the strikes occurred on the 4th floor of a 10-story residential building. Preliminary reports indicate two people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy,” the statement reads.

Specialists from the State Emergency Service inspected the area and provided necessary assistance to the victims and residents.

According to Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the 16-year-old boy sustained minor injuries. Medical personnel provided him with the necessary care.

“A woman was also injured—she received treatment on the spot,” Grigorov added.

Thus, two people—a teenage boy and a woman—were injured as a result of the morning attack by Russian strike drones in Sumy.

According to Oleg Grigorov, the Russian military deliberately targeted a residential area in a residential neighborhood of Sumy.

The strike damaged windows in a 10-story residential building and a kindergarten. At the time of the attack, the children were in a shelter, so none of the kindergarteners were injured.

The Russian attack also damaged cars that were near the site of the strike.

Rescue workers continued to work at the site of the strike and carry out necessary measures following the attack.

The attack was reported by Oleg Grigorov, head of the Regional Military Administration.

On the morning of October 6, Russian troops struck a hospital in Kryvyi Rih with “Banderole”-type cluster munitions. The attack resulted in injuries, including one hospital employee. Additionally, a fire broke out in the city center.

As a reminder, Russia is destroying Ukraine’s steel industry to eliminate a competitor in the EU market.

Ukraine’s largest steel mill partially halted operations following the Russian strike.

The combination of Russian strikes on steel mills, problems with maritime logistics, rising transportation costs, and new EU restrictions could lead to a 30–40% reduction in steel production in Ukraine, and iron ore production by approximately 40%.
