Russia attacked a Chinese vessel in Ukrainian territorial waters — Navy
On the night of May 18, Russian troops attacked a Chinese merchant ship that was in Ukrainian territorial waters.
This was reported by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, on Facebook.
To carry out this strike, the occupiers used a Shahed-type attack drone.
The strike on a civilian vessel of a foreign state was an unexpected move by the aggressor. The military notes that the enemy engaged in an open provocation against a ship from a country it considers its partner.
“It is interesting to wonder what motivated the Russians when they decided last night to use a ‘Shahed’ to attack a Chinese merchant ship in our waters,” the Navy spokesperson noted.
The attack caused damage, but critical consequences for the crew were avoided. The Ukrainian side promptly documented the violation in the Black Sea region.
He clarified that no one was injured as a result of the strike.
“There were no casualties, but this is something new,” Pletenchuk emphasized.
Russia launched a massive attack on Odesa; a child was among the victims
On the night of May 17, a number of military-industrial complex and energy facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region were struck. Strikes were carried out on an oil depot in Durikino, an oil refinery in Kapotnya, the Angstrom microelectronics plant, and the Raduga Design Bureau, which develops cruise missiles.
On the morning of May 16, Moscow also came under attack by drones, causing airports in the Russian capital to temporarily suspend operations.
The “ATESH” partisan movement claimed responsibility for a sabotage operation in the Moscow region, which disrupted the functioning of elements of the Russian air defense system on the outskirts of the capital.
